We’re back……take two!!
The observant of you will notice that our last post was written quite a while back…..and it was similarly entitled “We’re back”….
Well this time the blog is back for good and there has been a lot going on just a bit more behind the scenes! Which is why I’m back to catch you all up to speed!
On a personal note the last term has been a huge learning curve for the team, with Hannah off to University, Debbie taking up full time employment for the year, Meg moving out for a gap year internship and me completing a diploma at College alongside working. If we thought the work load was over when we finished a-levels……we thought wrong!
However as I said a lot has been going that you may have seen snippets of on our Facebook page!
First port of call for the updates is to point you towards our website!! Debbie has worked hard to update and change our website and it includes all our latest tambourine adventures! Check it out at http://andysbeat.weebly.com
On the note of our tambourine adventures we sent 95 tambourines in November, out to disadvantaged children in Tanzania, Gambia and Malawi!
A lot of this was due to the on-going support of our 100 Happy Days group. As you may have already assumed we are well over the 100 days…in fact a lot closer to 365 now! We would like to again thank this wonderful community of people for their on-going support and their amazing collective tambourines sponshorip and fundrtaising efforts! And headed up by Alison and Michelle another meet up was oranigsed in Novmveber raising over £100! A particular note of thanks to these two wonderful women for their organisational skills and never ending enthusiasm for the work they have been doing!
Another thanks goes to the Interact team at St Helens and Catherine’s school for their amazing fundraising efforts across the year that raised £900. This was all done by a team of 7, who ran a film night, a stall at their chrsitmas fair, and provided teas, coffees and cakes for rotary interact youths speaks competition, provided ice lollies, drinks, snacks at sports day, cash for clothes all to raise this money for us!
With some of this money we were also able to support a local orgasniation, the RDA (riding for the disabled association) and pay for the replacement of their music sound system for their Horse riding classes that had been previously set to music, but when their previous sound system broke had been left without for a while! We have loved being able to help out locally as well as sending out tambourines internationally.
It is rather belated of me to wish you all a Happy Chtistmas, though on behalf of the team I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday season! Andys beat was represented at Milbrook christmas fayre, and this was great fun for the team who went to meet people and chat about what we do as well as raising some money! Thank you to anyone who came and visited our stall!
And now all thats left is for me to say Happy New year! These blog posts will be once monthly from now including updates on what is going on and what our plans for the upcoming months are! Thank you again for your continued support!
